Chocolate Fingers

Ingredients
For the cake:
  • flour                              1cup
  • baking powder              1 1/2 tsp
  • castor sugar                   1 cup
  • eggs                               3
  • oil                                  1/4 cup
For the chocolate syrup:
  • milk                               1/2 litre
  • cocoa powder               5-6 tbsp
  • butter                            1 tbsp
  • sugar                             to taste
  • icing sugar                     2 tbsp
  • coconut powder            to coat the fingers
Method
  1. Beat eggs and vanilla essence with the help of an electric beater untill they're 3 times in volume.
  2. Add sugar slowly whlist mixing. Then add oil.
  3. Set aside the electric mixer and fold in the flour. Add 2-3 tbsp of warm milk.
  4. Grease a square pan with oil or butter, dust with a little flour. Pour in the cake batter and bake for 20-25 minutes.
  5. Let it cool and cut into fingers.
  6. In a saucepan mix milk, cocoa powder and sugar. Put on flame and bring to boil.
  7. Once boiling, add the icing sugar and remove from the flame. Let it cool completely.
  8. Dip fingers in chocolate sauceand roll in coconut powder.

Marble cake

Ingredients:

  • flour                          1 cup
  • baking powder          1 tsp
  • castor sugar              1 cup
  • eggs                          3
  • oil                             1/2 cup
  • cocoa powder           5-6 tbsp 
  • vanilla essence           1 tsp
Method:
  1. Beat the eggs together with vanilla essence until they're three times in volume with the help of an electric beater.
  2. Add sugar slowly until well mixed.
  3. Add oil slowly until well mixed.
  4. Set aside the electric beater and fold in flour. Divide the mix into two equal parts.
  5. Add cocoa powder to one part and 1/4 cup warm milk (if the mixture gets too thick).
  6. Pour in a greased pan one by one. with the help of a fork, make swirls to give a marble effect.
  7. Bake at 180 degrees celcius for 25-30 minutes.
